I was thinking the other day about the whole “See a penny, pick it up, and all the day you’ll have good luck” thing.

If we go back to the day when a penny was worth bending over for, the kind of people who saw details, and took action on an opportunity were going to be “lucky.”

Which is harmless. UFO superstitions have a tendency to consumer many people. That includes crazed government conspiracies of “cover ups” and calls from the crazies for the government to investigate stupid UFO sightings. This as opposed to a simple lucky penny. :)
