I made this decision years ago.

Wiser than I am, I guess.

It’s fear — and fear-mongering — driving people to demand they be permitted to carry weapons wherever they go. They’re afraid of immigrants, Muslims, gays, liberals, Obama, blacks, independent women — that’s just a partial list. I guess they cling to their weapons as some kind of “security blanket” to scare off the baddies.

It would be a lot safer for the rest of us if they’d switch to rabbit’s feet, St. Christopher medals, or crosses. For all the RW pronouncements of faith in God, the nutters don’t seem to have a lot of confidence in Him protecting them.
