Ugh, I hate this stupid conspiracy theory that hospitals are somehow getting more money by labeling deaths as Covid-19 than by other causes and as a result the death figures are artificially inflated.

A lot of friends I thought knew better are falling for this one.

This sounds like a variation on a plot from a medical drama where they “code” something incorrectly so that a procedure is covered under a patient’s insurance.
