I don’t believe the Dem leadership is going to be any more willing to take it up through reconciliation than they were yesterday. The only leverage Mitch had before today was that there was no scenario where the debt ceiling got raised before the end of the month except through reconciliation.

It will be the same game in December, with Mitch hoping for a different outcome.
