There are a couple of interpretations of this verse.

I got my verses confused what I told you about eish aish and eisha is still true.

BUt, in this verse, now that I am looking at it directly and my memory is jogged there is a, long history of interesting interpretation.

The one I go by is just the simple idea that men and women are both created int eh image of G-d and different types of the same species (man) which has just been created.

However, there is an idea that this means that Adam started out as both male and female at the same time and the the seperation with the rib was actually separating out the male and female physically.

There is also a discussion about this being the origin of Adam’s first wife who he rejected.

Sorry, my reply got lost in the grey…

My query is, if it relates specifically to Adam and Eve, then it was only ‘them’ who were created in the image of G-d.

Following on from that, ‘we’ are then pro created from a sinful Adam, not ‘Created in the image of G-d’

If not why not?
