High temp warnings in Oregon and Washington state. 90 degree+ into Maine and all through the Northeast.

One of these is quite unlike the other.

We get hot weather on the East Coast. We even get 90s like we’re seeing now. We even occasionally get 100, but we’re looking at our 3d heat wave of June. Our NJ cooling degree days records for April, May, June, July, and August have all been set in the past 20 years. September goes back to 1961, and October is again within the past 20 years.

But it’s extremely uncommon for those kinds of temps to show up in the Pacific Northwest. 100+ temps with no AC or limited AC? Yeah, that’s a deadly combination.
