Jumping in with this tidbit from The Guardian:

Julian Assange Arrested at the Ecuadorian Embassy

The President of Ecuador withdrew Mr. Assange’s political asylum claim. The ambassador then invited the Metropolitan Police in to arrest him.

They executed the warrant they had outstanding for him jumping bail.
