I have read some “true crime” but I prefer procedural fiction. The scariest “true crime” book that I ever read was “Serpentine.” Creepy as fuck.

Got my mom the book “Death in the City of Light” a few years back. Its about a serial killer who operated in Nazi occupied Paris. He targeted Jews and people attempting to get out of France because he knew they wouldn’t be missed and wouldn’t go to the authorities. True crime, not fiction.
