I think that given his previous assault on a police officer, he should probably be being held without bail. Sure, they can’t arrest him without the evidence yet, but standard police procedure would be hold him for forty-eight hours while getting testimony from him.

Here’s where my distinction comes in - he’s entitled to the benefit of the doubt until all the evidence is in. He’s in no way deserving of it.
