Dreher claims that he owes the Never Trumpers an apology. Umm… he owes Every Democrat an apology too. We warned everyone of exactly how bad this could be, and it was worse than that.

Dreher then goes on to wonder how Trump radicalized so many, all while ignoring the right wing ecosphere that manipulates and misinforms the GOP base. Fox isn’t mentioned a single time. Neither is Parler. Weird. How exactly did Trump convince his base that up is down, wrong is right, and that an armed insurrection and attempted coup were averted through sheer dumb luck.

The security situation included fuckups by the relevant agencies. They also were sabotaged by Trump and his coconspirators (again ignored by Dreher).

Mostly, he’s trying to have it both ways while somehow blaming others for his magical thinking and for the events that occurred last week.

Know who must be held accountable: Trump, his coconspirators and accessories. That’s from Trump on down.
