We are still at the front end of this pandemic. While people are anxious about the deaths so far, it appears as if only a tiny fraction of our population have been infected.

Unless there have been vastly more infected than the case counts currently show, which some people who want to downplay Covid-19 keep proposing, then we have to keep the social distancing/lockdowns in place until a vaccine is developed, or else this pandemic will end up being the biggest depopulation event since WWII.

Somewhere around one half of one percent, using the current number of confirmed infections and a figure of 327 million for our population.
