re: #138 Killgore Trout

I don’t agree with your assessment: “This is exactly what happened when the counter-Jihad movement chose to align with Euronazis.” In Europe virtually everyone living in Europe is aware of the associations (the neo-nazi associations) of certain political parties. Thus, no matter how much the Vlaams Belang, etc., attempt to disguise their associations, very, very few Europeans buy into it. Thus, these neo-nazi parties can’t attract huge crowds in Europe — nobody falls for it. The Tea Parties, on the other hand, were never (to my knowledge affiliated openly) with suspect political parties. Not even the Republican Party aligned itself or endorsed the Tea parties — from what I’ve read/seen, the Tea Parties seemed far closer to a ground swell of a populist movement (not under the “political sway” of any one political party, and certainly not under the control of some neo-nazi party. that’s not to say, of course, that the neo-nazis don’t wish to claim to have 100 percent control, etc. But, what’s claimed and what is are two different matters.)
