Yeah, as one who’s got some tinge of that in the family, it’s depressing (also in the family) to have to deal with a world where the mentally ill can have their delusions reinforced and confirmed by total strangers from around the world. This kind of thing is like giving a “cutter” access to a box of razor blades and a private place to use them.

It sickens me to no end, but I can see no way to put an end to it without seriously totalitarian measures, which would be illegal.

But yeah, their paranoid belief system is reinforced by outside evidence of others experiencing the same thing. So many people who never met each other, all reporting the same type of thing, there must be something to it after all. This is precisely the way the mind works in most cases, and for a paranoid schizophrenic, even more so.

I knew a guy in college who had a bad case of this. It was scary as hell, and his parents did not want to deal with it. He finally got thrown out of school, mostly, I think, because the school was scared of being sued if he went off the roof one fine night.

A site like that is…ick. Dangerous. Cruel. Is it put up by people who really believe it, do you think?
