It seems prudent to me that we (as a nation) get out of the following algorithm:
(step 1) scientist makes pronouncement on an aspect of climate change;
(step 2) various vested political interests attempt to discredit step 1;
(step 3) those wishing to defend step 1 counter-attack those in step 2;
(step 4) repeat from step 1.Somewhere along the line it will become necessary to do something constructive in our group decision making.
That isn’t going to happen if we insist that:
1. The market always knows best.
2. Cooperative effort is socialistic.
3. The government always gets it wrong.
4. International agreements erode sovereignty.
We can have it one way, not both.
