Update: Suffolk County Emergency Services has confirmed that there is, indeed, a 180 pound mountain lion wandering the streets of our fair burg.

The mountain lion must not be from around here.

Someone must have been keeping it, and then released it once it got too big… That’s too big a cat to have not been sighted crossing into the Bronx, Brooklyn/Queens/Nassau to get out by you. Can’t imagine it being a stowaway and getting in by air or ferry or even on rail (someone would have noticed a hungry mountain lion itching to chow down).
