Mitt is really messing up this whole Olympics thing.

Since he won’t run on his record as governor, and the Bain relationship is proving perilous, he now is going to concentrate on his work with the Olympics. And it is not working out.

1. He makes a remark about preparation in London. (I think he was trying to lay the implication that he’d done SLC so well there were no worries in advance.) That bombs and there is considerable reaction from UK politicians and media. So he promptly flip-flops. And the UK media calls him on it since they do *not* have any need to play nice in exchange for potential future reporting access.

2. The US IOC comes out and reiterates that they want no use of Olympic footage in any political ads by candidates or PACs. And that they will agitate for removal if any is used. Hard for Mitt to play up Olympics experience if you can’t put visuals of him there with it.

So. What’s the next backup plan for the Romney campaign?
