SON OF A BITCH!!

There was an auction for a watch I really wanted to add to my collection. I set up a snipe, and waited. It was supposed to end tomorrow. I was pretty hopeful because there were no bidders at $9.99, and that means no bidding war, so I thought my snipe price might be way over.

Tonight I look and the seller has closed the listing, and relisted it as a Buy It Now for $150!!! I’ll try a “Best Offer” of $40…

Still, if you get no bidders at $9.99, asking $150 seems a tad optimistic.

You’re dead on with that. I would imagine that it would make an interesting study of the behavior of both buyers and sellers on Ebay. I know that you and I have ranted about stupid bidders that bid way early and just run the price up overall… I’m curious, has that seller had many auctions where he was the seller? If he was a first time seller or had low experence he might have been spooked with the low action early. We both know how something can start jumping in the last couple of minutes when the ‘pros’ make their moves. I’ve seen lenses go up a couple of hundred bucks in the last 60 seconds, I’m sure you’ve seen the same.
