It’s the standard “dispute your authority and you destroy their entire argument” approach. Similar to the belief that if they discredit Darwin than evolution as a theory is destroyed along with it.

What’s also worth mentioning is JFK was cutting taxes on the wealthy from 90% to 70%. It amuses me when today’s conservatives try to claim JFK as their own when conservatives at the time were posting these in Dallas.
