No not at all. Rather, there were some that were always a little batshit, but the topics discussed didn’t fully bring it out of them. When we hit those points that did bring it out, it came out.

Some were always batshit. There is no way that disgusting creatures like the rodent were ever sane. Charles also used to be a lot more tolerant of people being nuts.

However, Charles was always on the side of what is true and distinguishing that from BS. With the Dan Rather expose and Charles staunch anti-terrorist views, he was seen as a fellow traveler.

When it became clear that he was not and never was, by then the crazies who had been here felt betrayed and the cycle that I am talking about kicked in.

Think about it. There are still some really hard right people here.

Dark Falcon, for instance and I have gone at it full bore more than once, yet, he has my full respect. There are many others like that. Being conservative does not make someone crazy. Being a paranoid, science denying bircher who is filled with hateful racism does though.
