There is not such thing as “practice equals talent”. There is only “practice makes perfect”; but you’d better start with talent.

My first year of playing drums I was kicking ass. My third year of playing guitar, I sounded like I was playing the thing with oven mitts on :D

Talent’s a funny thing, it’s not always a straight line. I have talents in very specific areas of art, and no talent whatsoever in others.
