That didn’t seem to be the case at the tea party I attended but it’s 12:46 here and I’ve got to get up early so I’ll leave that for another day and instead point you to my posts on the one I attended in boston here and here.

My suggestion would be to attend a local one and bring an apolitical friend with you or better still a friend who disagrees with you and talk to people there, that way you have first hand knowledge and a control to make sure you are not basing an opinion on a preconceived idea.
