In a previous life I worked at the photo studio that did about half of all the catalog shoots for Sears, JCO, Montogmery West, Eatons. Dressing models meant tearing the clothes apart and re-building them on the talent. JCP stuff was the highest quality—the hardest to pull apart.
My father said he had a French tailor: Jacques Penet. (guessing at how his pronunciation would have been spelled!)
