The big hammer the party establishment holds is the ability to turn the money off. The GOP has to be planning to throw a lot of money at this race…money Akin would have been counting on.

But if the religious right comes through, he won’t need the establishment money. I am sure he is doing that math, calling Tony Perkins and Bryan Fischer right now. He has to be thinking that with their dough he can survive this, beat Claire and have a six year ride, and at the end of that no one will remember this. He just has to make it through tomorrow.
