Do not try to apply this sort of logic to their thinking. They know what the Truth is, it is in (their own narrow-minded, bigoted interpretation of) the Holy Bible.

There they will find every sort of justification for their policies, and see no trouble selecting, bending and/or ignoring facts to fit the Higher Truth of their Revealed God.
