St. Louis is about to tell the owner to take his demands for public funding elsewhere. I think the public may be finally catching on to the scam that “public funding” for these playpens is.

I wasn’t aware of that. I was trying to yank RWC’s chain…. I used to live in St. Louis, and I remember with Bill Bidwell and the Cardinals. He was “I love St. Louis, have no intent to move the team.”, until Phoenix flashed the cash.

I’m glad that St. Louis, perhaps among other cities, is finally wising up, that the oft mentioned benefits of having a NFL team just don’t really play out. I know that Nashville cut a hell of a deal to get the Titans (Oilers) to move here.

It’s the same way that every NFL owner screams “We’re losing money hand over fist”, but at the same time, when a team sells, it’s always setting a new record price. Lets face it, you don’t buy an NFL (or any other pro franchise) because you’re trying to make money from it, you buy it because it shows you have the biggest pockets in the world.
