They’re trying to make Romney’s lack of character and absence of any moral conviction a strength. And really, it’s about all they have right now.

I don’t know if Davis is praising Romney here or not. He teaches a class at my alma mater and he’s someone who is respected by both liberals and conservatives alike. When I saw him speak, he called out the Norquist tax pledges as stupid. He was always a member of the moderate wing of the state GOP here. More like John Warner than George Allen. I could be wrong though but Davis doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy that would apologize for birtherism.

Here he is saying opposition to gay marriage is a political loser. Disagreee with him about McDonnell though.
