I can’t recall who it was who said it, but she said the ’60s died on August 8th, 1969 on Cielo Drive (paraphrasing from memory).

I was only ten years old at the time, but even I noticed a shift from the happy peaceful love-and-flowers hippy generation to something more dark and menacing.
