the day we were in the chamber was the same day we had our first road march…… 10 miles in the rain with ponchos on, and all the residual gas crystals slowly oozing out of your clothes, all the way back.

In the USN, we got to attempt to leave the chamber via a dogged down door. No, not the single lever kind that throws all the dogs at the same time.
If you know the type then you’ll know that as you’re undogging the door some of the latches will fall back into place and you’re still stuck.
Much fun and laughter was had by —— the DI’s and the service cadre.
