I would love to have Michigan host an event like this.

Never, ever gonna happen. There’s simply not enough of anything in the way of support. Everything from stadiums to hotels to public transportation to major renovations of Metro Airport would be required to host something like this, and Michigan has nothing to even start with. We’re in danger of losing the fucking auto show, fer cryin’ out loud - that’s how bad things have gotten.

The UP has a lot of what’s needed for the winter Olympics - lots of cold, lots of snow - but it doesn’t have anything in the way of access, accommodations or facilities. Lots of prestige, but a huge expense compared to other venues that already have a lot of what’s needed in place.

It is a beautiful state, though.
