With his rhetoric, Jon Voight undermines the legitimacy of the presidency. He engages in fear mongering and atavistic ballyhoo that plays in the superstitions and paranoia of the Tea Party and Fox News audience. Through his actions, he, by default, undermines the legitimacy of our nation through his hyperbolic criticism of the United States. At the same time, he heightens the level of hysteria already existent in a significant segment of the US population.
