Well she’s been dead for a few years, but when she was alive, she did wear combat boots when she cleaned out the horse barn.

She was a cool old bird.

My DIL was a reservist in Desert Storm, her mother was a career NCO, and her mother was a WAC for a couple years during WWII. Three generations of females in combat boots.
