I met Obama when was running for the Senate in Illinois when he came to a fund raiser in Austin in 2004. The late Valerie Phillips (press sec for Al Gore Sr. when he was a Tennessee Senator in the 70’s), called us in July, before the Dem Convention, and asked if we would be sponsors for this guy with the ridiculous name of Barack Hussein Obama. We said sure. Got to meet him before the unexpectedly huge crowd showed up. Early adopters are good.
