Government buildings; hospitals, schools, etc., should be able to be rebuilt to more stringent construction codes - particularly with foreign development monies. It’s a start, but getting people to build sturdier homes is an uphill battle but doing so is absolutely critical to getting ahead of the curve when it comes to the inevitable hurricanes and quakes that rock the region.

As it is, even the world bank offices in Haiti were destroyed. There’s pretty much no infrastructure to speak of at this point that wasn’t damaged around Port au Prince.
