re: #191 Justanotherhuman
Who do you think made those kinds of decisions over the hundreds of years of the various religions? Who “interpreted” what was written by others and played out their versions? The same thing can be said these days about the “intent of the Founders” concerning the Constitution, an exercise that goes on today and some of what we’ve seen in Iowa.
It was human beings, not some Grand Master Chess Player in the Sky, and none of us are perfect. It’s why I remain an atheist and continue trying to understand human beings, not just religions. In my mind, no killing is justified except to save your own life.
Which is why we make a distinction between the Constitution, which is a living document, written by fallible human beings, and Divinely Dictated Scripture.
