A $25 bill is a dumbass idea to begin with. We have 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 dollar denominations now in widespread use. Given that, is there any mathematical need for a $25 bill? Maybe we can really marginalize blacks by putting them only on the new $17 and $43 bills.

The notion that we shouldn’t do this because it could cause a fight is chickenshit. Every fucking thing the govt. does “could cause a fight” one way or another. It’s time to stop kowtowing to neo-confederates and other old white bigots. There may be a lot of them, but their proportion of the population slips a little every day. So screw them.

I think the base idea was that similar to $1 coins and $2 bills a $25 bill would be ignored and then rapidly withdrawn from circulation, thus restoring the status quo. So the suggestion is serious only in the belief that it is set up to fail.
