Torah has that war thing in it? even mentioning a tree with “one green leaf left”?! I had no idea, otoh, my few Muslim friends are better versed than my few totally secular Jewish friends.

Some author on NPR a while back wrote a book making the case that the Koran was just a collection of “best practices” of Judaism and Christian local sects and practices. He went further to say its original language was Syrio-Aramaic-Arabic or something, the way merchants at port cities today speak a dialect that is a mish mash of languages. Its later translation to classical Arabic created misunderstandings and some of the more harsh quotes.
