Already done. The New York Red Bulls (soccer), being the one that comes to mind.

As for stadium naming, we’ve had them for generations. Wrigley Field - one of the oldest ballparks in the country, was named after the team owner who also happened to be the name brand for the chewing gum he marketed and sold.

The more unusual circumstance is where new stadiums are built, but don’t get corporate sponsorships in the usual fashion.

Yankee Stadium comes to mind - though the brand Yankee is itself worth billions. Corporate sponsorships are instead relegated to areas of the ballpark - suite areas, restaurants, etc.
