It’s my fervent belief that the decline in spelling and grammar skills can be directly connected to the falling numbers of kids who read and love books. By placing emphasis on math and science at the expense of language skills, we’re creating a thinking-free generation.

People who read are better spellers and have a greater grasp of interpretation than those who do not, by a long, long shot.
