He has talked several times about his previous right-wing leanings. He became very hawkish following 9/11 and moved to the right. He, much like our Charles Johnson, saw over time how the GOP was absolute bat shit crazy and abandoned the ideology.

Yeah I sort of recall he was a conservative leaning pundit then at some point I noticed he wasn’t spouting the RWNJ line on some issue or another.
