Well, if we needed proof that the cops are going to be a major source of election day violence, I think the answer is becoming clearer.

My wingnut state senator was arguing in the Unicameral against “socialists” who want to eliminate the police and turn Nebraska into some dystopian hellscape.

Another senator had to remind the Republicans that three-quarters of the towns in Nebraska have no police, and of those which do, many are towns with only a marshal to enforce town ordinances.

That doesn’t matter though. They’ve since entered a budget bill which would “prohibit” removing any funding from a police department.
