The Southern Strategy has its obvious conclusion, I think, as does all of the devil’s deals that the GOP has made, with the religious right, the nativists, the isolationists. The state of science in the GOP alone makes it completely appalling to me. And by ‘in the GOP’, I’m referring to statements and actions taken by elected members of the GOP and officials of the GOP, not constituents.

I figure that there are a few more years in the desert before they figure out that they better do something for the future. The brand’s going to get so tarnished in the meantime however….
