Reviving the cells does not necessarily mean we could grow a baby mammoth from them.

Still, I’m more worried about losing animals that are now nearly extinct than trying to de-extinctify species that are long gone.

Given that humans were responsible for the extinction of the woolly mammoth, I have no issues in trying to restore these species.
