I have sources whom I trust, and all of them say that increased taxation is not a good idea. Moreover, the tax cuts Obama proposes are only temporary, while the tax increases are permanent. The next taxes would go into effect next year, while any changes to Medicare would be 5 years away.

Are you kidding? In a democracy, NOTHING is permanent. The other side can always change things, whether it’s Obamacare or the Constitution itself.
