re: #195 Obdicut
Strange conversation here, Obidcut. What I am saying is supported by tons of studies (this paper cites a bunch of it: ) Namely, that overall, men make their career choices and plan to advance with never counting in a need to take a significant chunk of time out to actually have the baby, much less to ensure that they are available to take care of it. Women on the other hand, generally, from a young age shape their career choices around their responsibility for children. I’m talking about things like an undergrad woman saying “I was thinking about med school but I want to have kids and it will just be too hard.” Not a statement a man would make, generally speaking.
