That’s what I was just getting ready to say. You sell the “Muslims are all terrorists!” line 24/7 and, lo and behold, some white people are gonna get it in their heads that Muslims are dangerous. Sort of like the Chapel Hill shootings that Fox was quick to downplay as a fuss over a parking spot.

Xenophobia runs rampant among white people in this country who’ve had little exposure to “furriners”—even when they’re born in this country.

Fear of the Other runs deep, too.
