I have long recommended the Fort Worth stockyard arena as a venue for auctions that could replace Texas elections. It would be cheaper and quicker and the results would be largely the same.
It has some of the best auctioneers in the world, convenient air and road connections (including a heliport), ample parking, and plenty of seating for the lobbyists, fatcats, and foreign agents who would do the bidding. It even has VIP facilities for billionaires and Russian oligarchs. The pols would simply be herded onto the floor and the bidding could begin.
I see no reason that it wouldn’t be just as serviceable for the GOP state convention.
