Yesterday the committee marking up the state medical cannabis bill voted it out to the floor of the Unicameral for debate.

One Republican amended the bill to only allow it to be used for eleven conditions, rather than the original bill Sen. Wishart proposed allowing a physician to prescribe it any way he or she deemed fit.

The argument for that was, “If we don’t impose bumpers on this, then a referendum might go on the next ballot like they did in South Dakota, and then we wouldn’t be able to regulate cannabis at all.”

Apparently, there’s absolutely no regulations on cannabis in places like Colorado or Michigan.
