Enlighten me, what’s a Bircher?

A member or someone sympathetic to the John Birch Society, a 20th century radical right group. Commie infiltration everywhere, flouridation is a commie plot, lots of General Ripper stuff. William F. Buckley spoke for the nascent Goldwater and co. conservative movement and told them to go stuff it in public (in print, I think).
