Archbishop of Miami Threatens to Fire Employees Who Support Marriage Equality

You win, yes. When it comes to the law, and when it comes to public opinion in general. But the Catholic church is not bound by law to approve the new law or to conform its own public stance to that of the general public. They have their own take on what’s right and what’s wrong.

I don’t know what the law is when it comes to freedom of speech, off the job, of employees. Teachers have been fired for posting to social media that their students were stupid losers or something of that sort. Officers have been fired for letting it leak that they disagreed with the president. The general rule seems to be that you can only go so far in publicly disagreeing with or trashing the views of those you serve or represent.
