Umm, unless there has been a medical breakthrough that I missed, the children of same sex couples also have a mother and a father. They also have two live adults who care about them in their home. What’s not to like?

This is wonderfully true, ideally.
In my own case, though, none of my adopted children knows who their father is. They also don’t know their biological mothers. In many other cases I know of, even when adopted children do know the identity of their mothers, they do not know who the father was — this often being the set-up for the whole adoption. Mitt forgets the unfortunate fact that plenty of children who live with a biological mother also face this situation. Or perhaps one parent is in jail, or raped the other…

Part of being as out of touch as Mitt is that you just don’t see these possibilities. They don’t exist.
